Description
Stowable weather protection for all-mountain winter riding and multi-day adventures. Layers well with other items, and doubles as a perfect après-ride jacket. Packs down to the size of a water bottle.
When the Guardian first dropped, it made friends fast. Light, breathable and impossibly weather protective, what started as a back of a beer mat doodle quickly became the new standard for high-intensity all-conditions trail riding. It even became something of a hit in the bikepacking scene, where its packability, helmet-friendly hood and adaptable on and off the bike fit won fans in search of a jacket that could go the distance, and do double-duty around the campfire at the end of the day.
Soon after the original Guardian shipped, we got to thinking about what might come next. Our wishlist? Lighter, more breathable, more manoeuvrable, more durable, and underscoring it all, the feeling of wearing ?less? jacket. So we designed it. And when fabric tech finally caught up, we built it.
The second edition of the Guardian is a refined iteration of the jacket you already love. From the well-placed torso pockets that eliminate bulk, to the generous rear drop for ample coverage in the riding position, we kept the original Guardian?s rider-requested features and applied them to the second generation of Gore?s advanced C-Knit? Backer fabric. The result is a flawless foul weather bike jacket, built for the demands of fast-paced mountain biking, gravel riding and camping out.
