Demo Bike Sale Conditions

We currently have all immediately available bikes listed in our online shop: Arbutus Routes demo bikes for sale.

Securing a bike

To secure a bike, customers need to put 20% of the sale price (including tax) as deposit. The balance is then due upon pick up of the bike. If the buyer decides to change their mind after the deposit is made this deposit will be returned minus a 5% processing fee.

Test Rides

We offer a test ride up to 8hrs long to be credited back towards the purchase price of the bike; with the intention of giving you an adequate test on your favorite trails. This rental period is paid for as a normal rental and will be credited towards your purchase price before your full payment. The test ride cannot be used as a further discount or store credit. This can only be credited against one single bike from the booking and not combined with other bookings.

Pickup Date

We stagger the pickup times to account for both anticipated bookings along with workshop load (and in some cases delayed stock). This can change as we get closer to the end of season (to be sooner rather than later) and we’ll do our best to get it to you earlier if at all possible.

Bike condition

Every single bike goes through an in depth pre-sale overhaul:

  • All parts will have more than 60% life left
  • Maintenance intervals will be reset
  • An in-depth service will be completed, ensuring the bike gets to you in a great mechanical condition

Warranty

  • The frame lifetime warranty is transferred to the buyer.
  • Ebike drive unit and batteries are covered by a 2-year warranty, starting at the beginning of their model year. We will provide all the details in regards to specific models before purchase.
  • Consumables aren’t part of any warranty and become the buyer’s responsibility after pick up. These include (but are not limited to):
    • Bearings
    • Pads and rotors
    • Drivetrain
    • Tires
    • Cables and housing
    • Suspension seals

The AR touch

Buying an ex-demo comes with:

  • A $99 credit on all bikes above $1000 (for future services, accessories, tools or any retail purchase. This cannot be used to reduce the cost of the bike itself or towards shipping fees)
  • A new Arbutus Routes water bottle

Shipping

We can ship an ex-demo bike to you (within Canada), for a flat fee of $249.
