Kate’s story is a familiar one in Whistler—she arrived from the UK for what was meant to be a gap year season and never really left.  She fell in love with the mountains, the lifestyle, and the strong sense of community. Briefly stepping away to pursue a more “conventional” path, Whistler had already left its mark. Over a decade later, she proudly calls the valley home and is grateful to be raising her family here.

An early supporter of Arbutus Routes, Kate is one of the original ambassadors for the brand—drawn to the brand’s focus on connection, adventure, and celebrating the trails and people that make this place special.

Nowadays, much of Kate’s inspiration comes from watching her daughter grow up immersed in mountain life—where ski school and bike camp double as daycare, and adventures in nature are part of everyday life. Outside of work, you’ll usually find her making the most of every spare moment:  bike park date laps with her husband, heading out for quick lunch laps in her ‘backyard’, racing, adventuring and exploring trails with friends, or enjoying the local community events that make Whistler such a special place.

For Kate, life revolves around the outdoors, community, and embracing every opportunity for adventure that this magical valley offers.
